About Us

The history of Krona began on September 1, 1994, in a 600 m² warehouse in Joinville/SC. At that time, the company was called Krona Indústria de Plásticos and had 4 employees, who worked on 3 machines producing PVC pipes to serve 230 customers.

We had to sell on the condition that our material would be as good as or better than that of the market leader. We weren't working to be just another one."

Six years passed and Krona grew: in 2000, the company already had 11 machines, to serve more than 1000 customers. In addition to the pipes, the company began manufacturing and selling PVC fittings.

"Wholesalers and distributors helped spread Krona's brand and products and thus became fundamental in our growth trajectory. So much so that today we are present in 7 of the 10 largest distributors of construction materials in the country; which is a source of pride for the company.”

This year, Krona was already operating 30 machines, producing PVC pipes, fittings and accessories and serving more than 3,000 customers. Recognition for the work began to arrive: Krona won its first honorable mention at the Anamaco/Ibope Award, one of the largest national awards for manufacturers of construction materials.

The production of construction accessories was also a success and led Krona to expand the company. In 2006, a new Krona factory was created, measuring 30,000 m², in Joinville/SC, for the production of sanitary accessories. That same year, the company won another award: the Ruy Othake Trophy, for third place in the PVC Pipes and Fittings segment. "From the beginning, our goal has always been to be a benchmark in quality in the segment."

Another year of growth for Krona: a new factory, with more than 4,000 m² of built area, began to operate and doubled the company's production. Intended for the manufacture of PVC pipes for conducting cold water, the factory is one of the most modern in Latin America and made Krona grow 55% in the pipe market of the South Region of Brazil.

This year, the company worked with 80 machines and served 6,600 customers. Krona also entered the world of football and became manager of the main futsal team of Joinville/SC, which was renamed Krona Futsal.

From the South to the Northeast: this year, Krona opened another factory, located at the José Aprígio Vilela Industrial Complex, in Marechal Deodoro, Alagoas. This unit increased Krona's total production capacity by 50%.

A year of further evolution, with the beginning of production of the reinforced series line of all products. At the same time, another recognition: Krona was included among the 1000 largest companies in the country, in the 15th edition of the Anuário Valor 1000 of the publication Valor Econômico, a survey that is a reference for professionals in the business world.

Seeking to expand its product catalogue and bring new options to its consumers, Krona Tubos e Conexões included the PPR Line for Hot and Cold Water in its production.

In the portfolio, the highlight is the launch of the DN 150 check valve for sewage. In the market, there was more recognition: Krona rose 21 positions in the 2017 Edition of the Anuário Valor 1.000 from Jornal Valor Econômico, and rose 86 positions in Estadão's ranking of More Companies and More Analyses 2017, in the Chemical and Petrochemical segment. Krona was recognized as the 2nd largest company in the field of construction materials in the South of the country and among the 50 largest in Santa Catarina, according to the ranking "500 Greatest in the South" by Revista Amanhã.

That same year, Krona was the winner of Top One, as the best case of the year in ADVB's Top Marketing and Sales with the brand repositioning case. Revista Amanhã, in partnership with consultancy Great Place to Work, released the result of the survey Best Companies to Work for in SC and Krona occupied the 7th place in the ranking among the top 10, in the category Large Companies. "Cutting-edge technology, appreciation and respect for people have always guided our organization. 

The alignment between the partners was fundamental for investments in technology and team training, necessary for us to compete in the market. The ability to make quick decisions is also another differential of Krona. Today, we see that our decisions have taken us to high levels of performance in the plastics manufacturing market."

Krona reinforces investments in expanding its portfolio and innovation with quality. This year, the first edition of ExpoKrona takes place.

Again, the company was elected one of the Best Companies to Work for in Santa Catarina, occupying the 10th position in the ranking Great Place to Work (GPTW) 2018, in the category Large Companies.

In addition, that same year, Krona received the certificate of the Human Being Award SC 2018, by ABRH-SC (Brazilian Association of Human Resources), within the modality “People Management – Development”, with the case: "Create Action Program: talent development".

The year Krona turned 25 was marked by the anniversary celebration, the Marketing campaign with star player Denílson Show and the launch of the Switchboards. The company gained 20 positions in the ranking of Anuário Valor 1.000, from Valor Econômico, and went from 864th place (2017) to 844th (2018).

This year, we can highlight the most awaited launches by customers: expansion of the Electrical Line with Switchboards, Junction Boxes, VDI System Boxes and Protective Box with outlet. In addition, Krona Sewerage Boxes are also included in the catalogue: Sewerage Box, Sand Box, Inspection Box and Rainwater Collection Box.

Krona permanently seeks innovations, with several fronts within the company, always focusing on productivity and customers. The industrial park continues to receive new machines and automation focused on process efficiency. We have increased investments in logistics and also in communication and merchandising. We have our internal processes integrated, always aiming at the quality of our customer service. The research and development area continues to increase lines and optimize existing products even more.

We use technology a lot to strengthen what is already a Krona brand: the relationship we have built with our customer over the years, always generating relevant content to help them succeed. We have conducted many online training sessions and talks. During the pandemic, we also did our first live streams. We maintained and even extended our proximity to resellers. We have videos, digital and printed materials, which serve to communicate the launches and explain their functionality, benefits and differentials. With our complete portfolio of merchandising and promotional materials, the reseller has full support and encouragement for a good sale. In addition, we train the attendants with the technical assistance team.
